Cruisin' the Caribbean

Good evening!

I am finally getting back to blogging! The Close to My Heart Caribbean cruise was amazing! A wonderful time of relaxation, fun in the sun and fun with friends! Our cruise ship, the Norwegian Dawn, left Miami and we visited two ports - Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We had a fantastic time visiting with fellow consultants and taking excursions to Stringray City and to swim with the dolphins at Dolphinarus in Cozumel.

Here are some pictures of the fun! I'll post more pics soon.

Enjoy!

Only 4 more sleeps!

Yahoo! I can hardly wait now - 4 more sleeps until my family and I go on a Caribbean Cruise with Close to My Heart! We are super excited! Our ports will be Miami, Cozumel and Grand Cayman. We are really looking forward to the warm weather, being with friends, enjoying the turquoise waters, sand, dolphins, stingrays and more!

Proud to be a Canadian

Hi everyone!

Yahoo! What an amazing Opening Ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver! I am proud to be a Canadian! I've included a picture my husband received from a friend of a C-Can Inukshuk near Richmond, BC! There's the spirit!

I'd love for you to tell me why you love being a Canadian! Share your stories!
On another note, how incredibly sad that the young Georgian luge olympian passed away today in a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, team members and fellow country-men and fellow olympians.

Made for each other card

Hi everyone,

I am sorry that I have not been able to post as often as I would like to. Recently, my Mom became sick with a cold. Usually that would not be a big deal, right? The difference is that my Mom has COPD - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (similar to Emphysema). She is on oxygen 24/7 and has had this disease for 7 years. It has been difficult to see her suffer and struggle for breath. Then a couple weeks ago, we learned that my close uncle (my Dad's twin brother who is a bachelor and lived with us since he was injured in a farm accident about 30 years ago and still lives with my parents) has lung and pancreatic cancer. Needless to say, we have been trying to spend as much time with them as possible.

Tonight I had a chance to create! Yahh! Creating is relaxing for me so tonight was a perfect time to make a card. Here it is! I used all Close to My Heart products including:

Veranda Creative Basics

Waterbrush

Juniper Marker

Creme Brulee Marker

Chocolate Ink Pad

Creme Brulee Stitched Ribbon

Creme Brulee accessories, including brads

Love You Forever Stamp Set

New Cards and Layouts

Hi everyone!

Thanks to my team members who came to the meeting yesterday! It was awesome!

Here is some artwork that I did yesterday. Enjoy!

The Birthday card is made using Close to My Heart's February Stamp of the Month called Piece of Cake and using paper from the Topstitch paper packet.

The rest of the scrapbook pages and cards are using Close to My Heart's Veranda Workshop of the Go kit, Filigreee Charms and Just Blooms Spring Flowers! Aren't they great?!

Enjoy!

What's important...

Good evening,

Life has a way of letting us know when we need to focus on what is most important to us - the people we love.
Almost two weeks ago, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti. I admit, I am a news junkie. I watched CNN and CBC and CTV. It was and still is heartwrenching. But we can make a difference by donating. We can make their lives better. We are truly blessed here.

Then, one week ago today I learned that my very close uncle (who is my Dad's twin and who lived with us almost our entire lives and he still lives with my parents) has pancreatic and lung cancer. I was devastated and still am. Cancer is cruel. There is no cure. But we can make a difference by donating to hopefully find a cure someday.

Many tears have been shed and many more will be shed. I have been reminded to focus on what is most important - the people you love and to let them know how much they are loved. Don't wait thinking there will be time. Just do it.

I have made two cards for some of the people I love and I encourage each of you to do the same and write a personal note inside. You will make their day!
Enjoy!

Lovin' the Felicity Scrapbook Kit from Close to My Heart!

Good evening,

I am lovin' Close to My Heart's Felicity paper packet! I have attached two quick projects that I did tonight.

One is a card using the papers and stamp set in the kit and the other is a Note Journal using the same papers from the Felicity kit as well as the new Journal and the Hodge Podge letters - love it!

Enjoy!
