Hi everyone!
Welcome to my partially completed two page 8 1/2 x 11 layout for January 2021.
As I posted yesterday, this My 2021 Story mini album is to document your year simply and beautifully with no pressure or guilt! You are special, you are unique, your perspective matters - YOU MATTER. This album is about what brings you joy. I know you want your pages to be perfect but it's okay if they're not. (If you look closely I have an ink smudge where it shouldn't be.) Don't judge your pages. This is about having fun and enjoying the creative process no matter the outcome. Explore, reflect, experiment.
Here are my in progress pages:
I decided to use a consistent color palette using Close to My Heart's Espresso and Sapphire colors. I used White Daisy cardstock as the base pages and the strips of paper are from Close to My Heart's Mix In Paper Packet. I random stamped using the snowflakes from the Months of the Year - January stamp set using 2nd generation stamping technique with the Sapphire ink on the White Daisy base pages. You can quickly and easily create your own background paper like I did with the snowflakes. So much versatility from this stamp set!
Here's a close up photo of the "snow DAY" page element - small details can make a page POP!
I stamped using Sapphire Ink and then used Close to My Heart's clear shimmer brush on the "o" in Snow and adhered to the page using 3D foam tape.
As I shared in yesterday's blog post, you don't need photos to document your story - here I created a memorabilia pocket simply just by using cardstock and 3D Foam Tape on the 3 sides. I put the outside packaging from Pascal's Patisserie in the pocket. Memorabilia pockets are easy and inexpensive!
Again, I used the clear shimmer brush on some of the words I wanted to highlight in this quote by Dr. Seuss.
